Designer Friday - Fabi Ormerod

I'm excited to share Fabi's final projects with you today.  As a guest designer for Precocious Paper, Fabi has been playing with the June Sampler:

Using the blue fabric and felt flower, Fabi created this festive birthday card:

The felt Super Stars make a great addition to a clipboard that Fabi altered with Sassafras Lass papers:

More June Sampler Inspiration

Hello! Fabi, my Precocious Paper guest designer for June, has been working with her June Sampler again :).  Fabi wanted to create something special to remember her grandmother by.

She began with a plain wooden frame (like the kind you can pick up at Michaels for $1.00), then painted and distressed it with acrylic paint and stamping.  She added a stamped chandelier to the edge, embossing it with Zing powder in a bright aqua shade.

Fabi painted one of the cardboard frames that comes in the sampler and added it directly to the photo, highlighting her beloved grandmother, who appears to be looking at the fabric and felt flower (also in the sampler) that Fabi perched on the corner of the frame.  Fabi colored the white paper ribbon that also comes in the sampler and tied it around the frame.  Lastly, she added a few vintage buttons and a bookplate.

I never envisioned this sampler being used for such a shabby chic vintage-inspired piece, but Fabi certainly illustrated here how versatile this sampler really is.  I still have a few samplers left, if you'd like to purchase one.  You can find the sampler here, on sale for just $10.00.  Have a great day! Precocious Paper Guest Designer - Fabi Ormerod

I am excited to introduce you to the June Guest Designer for Precocious Paper, Fabi Ormerod!  I originally "met" Fabi at The Studio, and this summer we will meet in real life as she travels from Brazil to my neck of the woods on business.  Let's take a look at how she worked her magic with the June Sampler, Summertime!

One of my favorite things about Fabi is that she has a knack for pulling things together from different sources for a fabulous, eclectic feel.  Here she has paired a rolled fabric flower from the sampler with a flower cabachon from her stash - so cute!

Isn't this card darling? The moon, a star, and a sweet girl perched on ribbon.  Adorable!

Designer Friday - June Sampler

I've been scrapping with my June Sampler, Summertime, and I have a layout to share today :).

The cardboard postage stamp frames and the felt stars are all from the sampler.  The papers are a mix of Jenni Bowlin and My Mind's Eye - Alphabet Soup.

I hope this kiddo's love of reading keeps up over the summer.  He has seriously devoured every Magic Treehouse book he could get his hands on, and the two libraries that serve our city may not be able to keep up with demand.  They carry all the books, it's just that they are so popular.  Hopefully he will find another series to fall in love with.

Designer Friday!

Happy Friday!  Amanda has been working her magic with the June Sampler, Summertime, and has several fantastic projects to share today :).

First up, this awesome layout of her son :).

I love the beautiful simplicity - a little paint, a little bit of cardstock, and the stars.  Isn't he a heartbreaker?!  Being a mom to four* boys, I really appreciate masculine scrapbooking supplies and kept that in mind with this sampler.  However, this one isn't just for the boys:

I love this sampler for parades!  The 4th of July here in the US is my favorite holiday and I am inspired to save some of this sampler for parade photos :).  Amanda altered the cardboard clouds with paint, and framed her title with a painted postage stamp frame.  The great textured piece under the photo is the paper ribbon from the sampler. Do you spy a young Amanda in the photo?

And speaking of Amanda as a young girl, isn't she lovely? Again, I love the paint.  You don't need much patterned paper when you put the sampler to use like this :).  ***If you are a die-hard patterned paper lover, though, I've got you covered with some paper options that match the kit next Friday :).*** Even after three layouts, Amanda still had plenty to create this adorable card with:
