I Love this Hair

I just realized that you'll see another layout for Chickaniddy Crafts on my blog next month with Addie wearing this same sweatshirt. I swear, she has more than one shirt! And I guess it just really coordinates with Chickaniddy ;). Anyway, did you see this one on their blog Monday?

I really enjoyed making the big, colorful title. For my process, be sure to see my post over there.

Seriously, how cute are these pigtails?! They don't always stand up like this. Sometimes they fall out around the elastic perfectly so that they look like little messy buns.

I'm having so much fun being a mama to a girl :). Well, stay tuned for that other pink sweatshirt layout, haha! Thanks for stopping by! Tessa

Serendipity Stationery Set - SRM Stickers

Hello and happy Tuesday! When I make cards, I like to make several at a time with the same kit or collection. Using the Serendipity 6x6 paper pad from Scrapbook Circle's February add-on, as well as some of my favorite SRM Stickers products, I put together this stationery set:

I love how different these three patterns are - lemons, a navy/periwinkle floral, and a multi-colored floral. I thought they'd make a great set of cards, especially paired with the green "hello beautiful" sticker from SRM. It's actually a long strip, a border sticker, but I cut it up to be my sentiment.

Tip: Be careful how you place a sentiment like this. When I adhered my first sticker, I realized I had created a new word (think "hello" minus the last letter) as the sticker ran off the edge of the card. Oops. Not quite the sentiment I was going for ;). I had to very carefully pull up the sticker and try again, but I was much more careful with the other two.

SRM Stickers now carries these fantastic clear card boxes (they also come in kraft with windows!). I chose an A7 box and added patterned paper to the back of it as a background for my stationery set.

I added a Target dollar spot pen, as well as an SRM glassine bag filled with sequins and envelope seals that I made from leftover patterned paper.

Hello February! Totally Random Tuesday

Yes, I realize that February has been around for a couple of weeks, but I'm just now coming up for air! Here's a "totally random Tuesday" update for you:

I still can't believe that I see myself up there! The design team is getting all settled and I'll start sharing Pink Paislee projects soon :). If you don't already, feel free to connect with Pink Paislee here: Facebook / Blog / Instagram / Pinterest / YouTube / Twitter

This is the time of year that dance really ramps up. Our first competition was last weekend, and I am really happy about how things went. My 7-8 year olds took 1st overall and my 5-6 year olds (all first time competitors!) took 4th overall. The soloists all made the top ten, with one taking home 1st overall and the title. More importantly, everyone had fun and enjoyed the experience. It was really a great weekend and I am excited to get back to rehearsal to improve upon our performances.

I'm also about to start a HUGE project with a local elementary school - their first dance festival. I will choreograph, direct, write the script, and probably a million other things ;). PTO and teachers are on board, and I have a wonderful partner in the music teacher, so I'm sure it will be a success and a lot of fun!

A few people have reached out about the status of my Etsy shop, Precocious Paper. You may have noticed that I emptied my shelves at the end of 2014. I am not closing my virtual doors, but I am taking time off. When I started my Etsy shop, it was just for fun. A year later, Precocious Paper was my creative outlet, having just moved to a new state and taken time off from teaching dance. Now, my circumstances are much different and I am blessed with several creative opportunities. In order to strike the right balance, I am using this hiatus to step back from Etsy, re-charge and re-direct. I have a tentative re-opening date in mind and will share when those plans are more solid :).

As always, instead of waiting on blog updates, you can keep up with me on Facebook and more so on Instagram. I hope you are having a great week! Thanks for stopping by :). Tessa

SRM Stickers Design Team!

I am so very happy to share that I have been invited to join the SRM Stickers design team! I have been on their design team twice before, as well as the challenge blog design team, and I am absolutely thrilled to be returning once again! Susan is one of the sweetest, smartest, and lovely people in the papercrafting industry, and I love that I get to support her company in this way.

The announcement is on their blog today, which you can read here. I'm sharing a new layout, too:

Since she turned one a couple weeks ago, I've been really nostalgic and scrapping a lot of baby photos. I think she might actually fit these sunnies now ;).

I used the Valentines border stickers for this page. The "I love you" and "xoxo" and pennant banner come from this sheet. I especially loved the red border stickers and how they brought out the red in the floral patterned paper.

I decided to just go with just her initial for the title. I didn't have a red alpha that matched the pretty red of the stickers (they were all too dark), so I decided to paint a blank chipboard "A". When the paint dried, it was still a bit too dark, so I used some Glossy Accents to make it shiny. I was happy to see that the Glossy Accents brightened the "A", too :).

I am seriously in love with these Pinkfresh Studio arrows. I've been hoarding them, and now I'm almost all out!

So, watch this space! More SRM Stickers projects are coming. Thanks for stopping by today, and if you haven't already, be sure to check out SRM. Have a good one!
