September Memory Planner Pages - SRM Stickers

Hello! I'm saving the "how I finally gave in and became a planner girl" story for another post, but I have to say - I finally stopped resisting and I am so glad. Today I'm sharing my September pages from my Heidi Swapp Memory Planner.

This planner is reserved for my "Thirty-Four Things" project. I realize I still need to post that here, but I enjoyed my "Thirty-three Things" project so much that I decided to do it again. These birthday resolutions have helped me focus on what I need to work on, and the planner helps me to document my progress from day to day.

Every day I write something specific to that day that goes along with one of my goals. Sometimes it's recording how I was cognizant of a goal while we were enjoying family time. Sometimes it's how I took a step towards accomplishing a goal. Sometimes it's encouraging myself to work on something specific. And then I decorate it with pretty stuff.

After completing the first month, I am really excited to keep going all year long. I used the Heidi Swapp Memory Planner accessories for the month of September. I also used washi tape, a few other stickers, and some other Heidi Swapp product. My favorite addition to the "kit" I worked from is my stash of SRM Stickers.

I love SRM's stickers because they have clear backings. You can cut them up and layer them over other things. From sticker stitches to seasonal themes to huge numbers, I used SRM on every single page.

You can read more about the stickers I used, including links, on the SRM Stickers blog today.

I thought it would be fun to do a flip-through video every month for my YouTube channel. If you'd like to see September's pages, here's that video. I point out all the SRM Stickers and you get a slide show of every page + details:

I Love SRM!

It's no secret that I absolutely LOVE SRM! From the stickers to the containers, chalk markers to stamps - I love it all! I am thrilled to share that I am now a part of the 2015-2016 design team!

I have designed for SRM for various lengths of time over the past several years and I am looking forward to the best year yet :). To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to share some gift bags and cards that I made recently:

I purchased the gift bags at Target. I loved the gold stripes! I purchased the cards from the dollar spot at Target and dressed them up with some washi tape (gold, polka dots) and SRM stickers. I clipped the cards to the bags with a piece of patterned paper layered behind for more pattern and color.

I also purchased these bags and cards at Target, too. I just can't get enough of that gold stripe foiled tissue paper!

This time I placed the SRM stickers over the washi tape layers. Mixing washi tape and SRM stickers is one of my favorite techniques.

Speaking of washi tape and stickers, I made almost 30 of these cards for the teachers at my kids' school. SRM made the easiest and most perfect sentiments.

Be sure to follow SRM on Facebook, Instagram and on their blog here. I'll be sharing a card next week with a fabulous new product :). Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Lucky Us Vase - SRM

I am so excited to share a new product being carried by SRM Stickers with you today! The chalkboard trend is not going away any time soon, and SRM is bringing you something that will make creating chalkboard surfaces so much easier than the typical bottle of paint and a brush.

This isn't a chalk marker. It's a chalkBOARD marker. Think of it like a paint pen, but instead of regular paint, it applies chalkboard paint. Once you have followed the directions, the surface can be used like a chalkboard, especially with the Bistro chalk markers that SRM is also now carrying.

I experimented with the marker on a glass vase. The marker is not recommended for glass because it isn't permanent on glass, but you can still have a lot of fun creating with it so long as you don't mind the chalkboard being fairly temporary. I have a list of tips for working on glass on the SRM Stickers blog today.

Next I am going to try turning a framed piece of glass into a chalkboard, or maybe a mirror. So many possibilities! And, of course, I'll be trying it out on a layout soon, too.

For more details about this amazing marker, head on over to the SRM blog. Thanks for visiting today! Have a good one! Tessa

Serendipity Stationery Set - SRM Stickers

Hello and happy Tuesday! When I make cards, I like to make several at a time with the same kit or collection. Using the Serendipity 6x6 paper pad from Scrapbook Circle's February add-on, as well as some of my favorite SRM Stickers products, I put together this stationery set:

I love how different these three patterns are - lemons, a navy/periwinkle floral, and a multi-colored floral. I thought they'd make a great set of cards, especially paired with the green "hello beautiful" sticker from SRM. It's actually a long strip, a border sticker, but I cut it up to be my sentiment.

Tip: Be careful how you place a sentiment like this. When I adhered my first sticker, I realized I had created a new word (think "hello" minus the last letter) as the sticker ran off the edge of the card. Oops. Not quite the sentiment I was going for ;). I had to very carefully pull up the sticker and try again, but I was much more careful with the other two.

SRM Stickers now carries these fantastic clear card boxes (they also come in kraft with windows!). I chose an A7 box and added patterned paper to the back of it as a background for my stationery set.

I added a Target dollar spot pen, as well as an SRM glassine bag filled with sequins and envelope seals that I made from leftover patterned paper.

SRM Stickers Design Team!

I am so very happy to share that I have been invited to join the SRM Stickers design team! I have been on their design team twice before, as well as the challenge blog design team, and I am absolutely thrilled to be returning once again! Susan is one of the sweetest, smartest, and lovely people in the papercrafting industry, and I love that I get to support her company in this way.

The announcement is on their blog today, which you can read here. I'm sharing a new layout, too:

Since she turned one a couple weeks ago, I've been really nostalgic and scrapping a lot of baby photos. I think she might actually fit these sunnies now ;).

I used the Valentines border stickers for this page. The "I love you" and "xoxo" and pennant banner come from this sheet. I especially loved the red border stickers and how they brought out the red in the floral patterned paper.

I decided to just go with just her initial for the title. I didn't have a red alpha that matched the pretty red of the stickers (they were all too dark), so I decided to paint a blank chipboard "A". When the paint dried, it was still a bit too dark, so I used some Glossy Accents to make it shiny. I was happy to see that the Glossy Accents brightened the "A", too :).

I am seriously in love with these Pinkfresh Studio arrows. I've been hoarding them, and now I'm almost all out!

So, watch this space! More SRM Stickers projects are coming. Thanks for stopping by today, and if you haven't already, be sure to check out SRM. Have a good one!

Washi Butterfly Birthday Card - Love My Tapes, SRM Stickers

I am still obsessed with this pink stripe washi tape that I got from Love My Tapes. I think the pink and graphic stripes are a great contrast to the fabric I started with on this birthday card for my sister:

First, I cut a piece of fabric to fit the face of my card base. I distressed the edges by pulling away loose threads. I did my best to center the fabric design on the card, then sprayed a bit of pink Heidi Swapp Color Shine to the center. Next, I applied a few rows of washi tape to scrap cardstock and used my butterfly punch to cut out the shape.

I added a brad to the center of the butterfly and attached an SRM Stickers sentiment between the brad and butterfly. Last, I attached the butterfly/sentiment to my card with a dab of hot glue. Oh! And don't forget a bit of thread wound up behind it all.

You can see my post featuring this card on the Love My Tapes blog today. If you're reading this, Liz, Happy Birthday! Your card is on its way!

Have a great day! Tessa

Year-Round Teacher Appreciation - Love My Tapes, SRM Stickers

Hello! I am good about remembering to thank my kids' teachers during teacher appreciation week and the holidays, but I need to be better about expressing my gratitude at other times of the school year, too. After all, she returns emails quickly, answers questions thoroughly and is putting up with teaching my son, so she deserves a thank you card, January or otherwise.

I thought the ruler washi tape from Love My Tapes was a great fit for a teacher card, so I pulled that out along with other Love My Tapes fabric and lace tapes. I went with my favorite formula of strips of tape, then added SRM sentiment stickers directly to the tape. A few enamel dots finish it off.

I'm not the only washi tape fan in my household. Check out who tried to be sneaky-sneaky while I was photographing the card:

Oh, Adlyn. She was moving really slow with one eye on me. This girl is too smart! She definitely keeps me on my toes :).

You can also see this card on the Love My Tapes blog today. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope your week is going well :). Have a good one! Tessa

Halloween Hop - DCWV

Note: This blog hop has since ended and the giveaways are closed, but I hope you still enjoy my project! I'm linking up to the Paper Issues' "Witchin' You a Happy Halloween" linky party :). It's sponsored by SRM Stickers, and you know how much I love SRM Stickers!

Hello and welcome to my stop on DCWV's Too Cute to Spook Halloween hop! If you've just happened upon the hop and would like to join us from the start, you can begin at the DCWV blog here. If you've been hopping and you just arrived from the lovely Thomisia's blog, you're in the right place :).

My project...

This altered pumpkin started as a sad-looking, scary-bright foam pumpkin from the dollar store. I saw its potential, though, and knew some DCWV love would make it the perfect addition to my Halloween decor.

I started by decoupaging newsprint paper from the Vintage Essentials stack to the pumpkin. Because the pumpkin is round and there are grooves, the paper doesn't easily lay flat. But, I love that look for something on the creepy side. Once that was dry, I painted the stem black.

Next, I cut pennants from the Eek-a-Boo 6x6 stack. I used Halloween stickers by SRM Stickers to make a few more pennants, then I glued them to an orange string. I display pumpkins in my house all autumn long, so this banner is lightly tacked to the pumpkin and can be removed after Halloween.

Prize details...

By now you know that DCWV is giving away three stacks to lucky blog hoppers who leave comments along the way. I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway of my own, too! How would you like some spooky stamps to help you create your own fantastic Halloween projects? And some Halloween stickers by SRM to sweeten the prize?

Just leave a comment and I will draw a name on Tuesday, October 21st. DCWV will post its winners on Tuesday, as well, but be sure to finish hopping by Monday morning, 8 am EST. I'll announce my winner here on the blog and on Facebook. Please check back and/or follow on Facebook so you don't miss out. I'm too busy scrapping to hunt down winners ;).

Next stop...

Enjoy the rest of the hop! Now on to the fabulous Britt's blog. Thanks for stopping by! Tessa

Trick-or-Treat Pumpkin Pails - SRM Stickers

Hello! The current theme at the SRM Challenge blog is Halloween. With a few friends in mind, I went to Target and came up with these pumpkin pails:

Supplies:
* scalloped edge pails (Target dollar spot)
* black and white striped straws (Target dollar spot)
* lime green tissue paper (Target's gift wrap aisle)
* caramels (checkout lane at Target)
* SRM spider stickers and trick-or-treat stickers
* DCWV bling (spider eyes)
* lime green tulle

The orange pails are the body of the pumpkin. I just love the scalloped edge! I took packages of caramels and striped straws, then wrapped them together in the tissue paper. The straw is my pumpkin's stem, and the green tissue paper and tulle is the leaves.

I put SRM spider stickers on cardstock, then punched out the circles and punched a hole for stringing.

I put the "trick-or-treat" sticker right on the pails. I've also seen people put jack-o-lantern faces on these pails - you could use SRM vinyl for that ;).

If you'd like to play along with the SRM Stickers challenge, you can find it here (along with fabulous inspiration from the design team!). Thanks for stopping by today! Tessa

PS: I'm linking up to the Paper Issues' "Witchin' You a Happy Halloween" linky party :). It's sponsored by SRM Stickers, and, well, you know how much I love SRM Stickers!

Apple Candles - SRM Stickers

Hello! I love that as fall approaches, pumpkin is all the rage. My Pinterest feed is already filled with pumpkin desserts, drinks, muffins and pancakes. I love a good pumpkin recipe, but let's please not skip over apple season! Apples are the star of the show over at SRM Stickers' challenge blog this month. Here is my take:

I found these cute apple-scented candles in mini mason jars at my local dollar store. I removed the label from the top and tied some gold and ivory Twinery twine around the lid.

My stem is a mini spool. I bought a bag of them at Michaels a while back - they are perfect for winding shorter bits of washi tape and twine :).

I trimmed a piece of cardstock to fit, then adhered my SRM Sticker sentiment to the far right of the paper. I glued the left end of the cardstock to the spool, wrapped it around once, and secured it with a bit more glue. I cut a notch in the end of the paper for a finished look.

Last, I trimmed a leaf shape from wool felt and glued it to the back of my stem. I plan to give these to a couple of friends I've been thinking about lately.

If you'd like to join in on the challenge, please visit the SRM Challenge Blog here. Besides apples, there are other ways to join in - a color palette, a card sketch, and themes.

On another note, In case you haven't seen, Pretty Little Studio and Pinkfresh Studio have teamed up for an awesome blog hop today and tomorrow! My project will be part of tomorrow's hop, so I hope you'll come back and take a look then. In the meantime, you'll love today's line-up! Start here for great projects, giveaways, and awesome discounts from both companies.

Have a great day! Tessa

Fabric Tape Mason Jars - Love My Tapes

Hello, hello! I LOVE Mondays. They make me feel extra productive. On Monday, I've got a blank slate for the week and I can make the improvements and adjustments that are needed. After a relaxing Sabbath Day, I am recharged and ready. Mondays just feel good :).

On this happy Monday, I am sharing a washi tape project that I made for my mom on her birthday a couple weeks ago.

I found small Mason-type jars at the dollar store in town. I picked up several and inspired by all the cute washi tape jar projects on Pinterest, I decided to give my own jars a go.

I used three Love My Tapes fabric tapes around the jars. I overlapped each one just slightly to create a solid band around the jars.

To top the flower vase jar, I replaced the solid lid with a flower frog lid. I found a package of these at Michaels; 4 pieces for $5.00, I think. To top the candy jar, I punched a 2.5 inch circle from a piece of cardstock. I applied the washi tape in strips over the cardstock, then used sharp scissors to cut off the excess. Then, I just added the cardstock piece over the lid and beneath the ring.

I made this card to go along with the jars. I would have used the same tapes, but my craft space is not the most organized and I couldn't find it when I was pulling out supplies for the card. At least I color coordinated, right? The sticker sentiment is by SRM Stickers.

I'm sure I'll play with tape and more jars soon. I love that I can easily customize and coordinate gifts with different styles and colors of tape. You can check out my jars on the Love My Tapes blog today.

Thanks for visiting, and happy Monday! Tessa
