The current prompt over at Who's That Girl is about your most distinguishing feature.  I've worn glasses since the 6th grade and am legally blind without them.  I got contacts in high school, which I loved, but about 5 years ago something happened to one of my eyes.  It could have been an infection, it could have been an injury - we don't know.  Three doctors and four types of medication and steroids later, my only option was going back to my glasses.  They couldn't figure out what was going on, so now I wait until the right time for lasik surgery - assuming I'm a good candidate for that.  It's been so long since I've worn contacts that people don't remember what I look like without glasses.  I think these lenses are my most distinguishing feature.

I used the sketch at Sketchy Thursdays and added a little flower center bling to the layout in response to an embellishment challenge at Scrapfreak.  I used some Dear Lizzy paper that I got from the April Scrapbook Circle kit, and American Crafts ribbons that I got from Scrapbook Steals.

I was looking at the Precocious Paper Facebook Fanpage today and found a fan photo from Derinda of Emma Lee's Boutique.  She is one of my favorite customers, and she makes the most adorable hair accessories from my flowers.  Isn't this cute?

Thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate your comments.  Each one is like a little ray of sunshine in my day.  Happy Wednesday!  Tessa

  1. I love that page Tessa. Love everything about it.
I'm having terrible problems with my little Hollie lately. She's almost 11 and has had glasses since she was 4 and absolutely hates them. She cries and cries about them : (
Even the thought of contacts when she's older doesn't help. According to her 'those freaky rubber things' aren't going anywhere near her.
Like you though, I think glasses suit her. x

  2. Love this page, Tessa!!! It's a great one!! Awesome colors, too and love the picture of you. :)

  3. I loveeeeeeeee that photo of U...and loving the paint...and I feel your pain as I had to stop wearing contacts too after they kept RIPPING in my eye....ugh...and I thought giving birth was painful!! LOL!!! Hopefully U can get lasik soon!!! Thanks soooooooooooo much for playing along with Sketchy Thursdays! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  4. soooo love this!!!! i wore glasses from 2nd grade, got contacts at 13, and lasik (FINALLY) at 36. it was the best thing i've ever done!!!! although, since my eyes were soooo bad (-7 on contacts, if that means anything to anyone) it took 2 sessions to finally correct it. VERY scary. everyone always talks about seeing CLEARLY as soon as the surgery is over. i felt like i had vaseline in my eyes. this persisted for a couple weeks. i was so scared i was that statistic that actually lost their vision with lasik! as i waited to finish the correction, i had to wear glasses, which i hadn't done since the age of 13. that was hard. (i had to wait 3 months until they could go back in to finish the surgery) not trying to dissuade anyone from lasik. i am so glad i had it. no more glasses, contacts, solutions, expensive eye dr appts, etc. it's wonderous!!!

  5. I got my first pair of glasses when I was 22 but after putting them on (wow the world is full of sharp lines rather than the fuzzy place I thought it was) I realised i should have got them quite a few years previously - don't even want to think about me driving esp at night!! I'm too chicken to even think about lasar

  6. Very cool page. Love the details. I've had to wear glasses since 3rd grade and didn't move to contacts until I was 21. Sometimes it's just nice to wear my glasses though. :)
