Hello and happy Sunday! There's a new challenge up at The Studio Challenges that I thought was a great way to start off 2015. The challenge is to create a page reflecting back on 2014. While my design team friends took the challenge to heart and highlighted important moments on their beautiful layouts, I didn't take the challenge quite so seriously.
While my stylist - my sister - was coloring my hair a couple of weeks ago, she made the comment that during 2014 I had been every color of the hair rainbow. Nearly black, blond, red and now brunette. I thought selfies of my various, colored pixies would make a great layout, and a fun response to The Studio challenge.
In an effort to work through my stash a bit, I used the Kate and Co. line by My Mind's Eye to create this page. I thought the florals were totally me, and the chipboard was perfect for accenting my little photos.
The little alphas are from the Target dollar spot. I bought three sheets, I love them so much :). The large gold alphas are Pink Paislee.
Don't tell my sister, who wanted me to stay red, but I kind of miss the red. I do love having dark hair again, though, and I really don't think I'll ever do blond again. As for the pixie, I'm growing it out a bit so that I can go longer between hair appointments, but I don't think I'll ever stop wearing my hair short. I wonder what kind of pixies 2015 will bring?
If you're up for the challenge, visit The Studio Challenges here. Thanks for stopping by today! Tomorrow I'll be kicking off a special week of blog posts, complete with videos and giveaways, so I hope you'll visit again soon. Have a good one! Tessa

One Little Word Tag Book - Love My Tapes
My one little word for 2014 is FINISH. You can read more about why I chose this word here. I've been thinking about my word quite a bit lately, and I've come to the conclusion that I am slacking. To re-inspire myself to be more diligent in working on my word, I created this little tag book:
To see how I made the tag book, please see the Love My Tapes blog today. If you are visiting from Love My Tapes, hello! Using their fabric tape to bind my tags was easy, and the tape will hold up beautifully to repeated folding.
I have a Pinterest board where I collect things that make me think of my word - mostly art and quotations. I copied ten of the quotes - putting the one that started it all on the cover - into the book. Each one is numbered with a My Mind's Eye sticker.
The One Little Word flair on the front cover is by A Flair for Buttons. My flair supply is currently a little low - I've got a wishlist of about 20 sets in my shopping cart right now ;). I love Shelley's flair!
Now I have a lovely little reminder of what my word is all about. I have it propped up on my dresser in my bedroom so that I will see it every day.
For more photos and instructions, be sure to see the Love My Tapes blog today :). Do you have a one little word, and if so, are you still going strong this far into the year? Thanks for visiting! Tessa

Clarissa and Me
I'm not sure how I found it, but I squeezed a little extra time out of my day recently to create a layout just because. I was inspired by the recent My Mind's Eye challenge to fussy-cut elements on a page. I chose to scrap an instax photo I recently took and the Miss Caroline line was a perfect, fussy-cut-able match:
I fussy-cut the small doilies and the floral pattern. I love my precision tip scissors - those things come in handy almost daily!
I'm loving the paper doilies trend right now, and since I don't scrap very many doily-compatible themes (boys are my main subject), I went full-force with the doily motif for this layout.
I hope your Wednesday is going well :). I've already been to the school for a 3rd grade assembly and a 2nd grade event today. Colten received a special award for making it into the half million words club (a reading achievement), and another special award for being one of only two kids in 3rd grade to accomplish that. Proud mommy moment for sure! Enjoy your day :). Tessa
