Planner Dividers - We R Memory Keepers

Hello, hello! Today on the We R Memory Keepers blog I am sharing a planner project with the new Tab Punch Board. This tool can make file folders, dividers, and any other tabbed thing you can think of! I made dividers for my personal size planner:

You can read all about the papers, embellishments, and the washi tape pocket card on the WRMK blog. Here, we're going to get into how to make this fantastic tool work its magic on personal sized pages.

The Tab Punch Board has all the markings you need to make tabbed pages that measure in full inches. It's easy to follow, and all the thinking is done for you. However, personal size planner pages are 6.75 x 3.75 inches. That little quarter of an inch can throw off a series of tabbed pages, making them off center. That may still work for some, but the perfectionist in me can't have that ;). So, I experimented and came up with a "hack" for making the tool work for any size page.

Basically, I marked my tool with a Sharpie marker where the center of a small, medium and large tab would be in relation to the punch on the tool. Simply mark your paper (any size) where you want the center of a tab to be, and these marks allow you to line up properly. You have to do a little math to know where to put the marks on your paper, but it's not hard. In fact, I've already done the measurements for a personal size planner for you!

Just right click and save.

Elle's Studio January Kit Reveal

Hello, everyone! The January kit, which I gave you a sneak peek of yesterday, is now available!

Having worked with a few of these kits now, I can honestly say they are an incredible value. I can make several layouts with these little packets of paper goodness, plus have leftovers for cards, my planner, and extra things like gift tags. Here are a couple more projects that I made this month with the kit and some fabulous add-ons:

This girl cracks me up. She's such a jazz dancer. Not a ballerina at all. The bright colors in the January kit reminded me of these photos and they were a match made in heaven!

But the kit can definitely do something more monotone and manly, also:

I pulled the blacks, grays, and yellows from the January kit for this one. I pulled out my typewriter and combined typed journaling with stamped words. I love the way it turned out and will probably use this technique again soon.

I love the large acrylic stars that are new in the shop. Such a great embellishment for guy pages!

Anything is Possible - Elle's Studio + Winner

Hello, friends! I'm excited to be sharing my first Elle's Studio project on the Elle's Studio blog today! I was asked to create a page with a New Year's theme, which was a great assignment for me because I do one every year about this time anyway. The January kit was perfect for this:

A few favorite things...first, my title. That 3x4 card is part of the January kit and was the jumping off point for the whole page.

Second, the 2017 acrylic. I love these! They come in two sizes (this is the small) and both black and white. They are a fabulous addition to a page like this, a title page for Project Life, or a mini book. I have more than this one on hand, so I'm sure you'll see it again!

Third, this 4x6 card, again from the January kit. I put my typewriter to use, and decided to add my handwriting, too. Using Elle's Studio products always makes me add more words to my layouts, which - I feel - is really important.

New Year, New Word

Hello, friends! Happy New Year! As I reviewed my online presence in 2016, I realized that my creative project-sharing shifted to Facebook and Instagram posts in the last several months. While I LOVE connecting with others on those platforms, I miss sharing the details and the background story in a larger space. This space. So, with the new year comes a new devotion to blogging.

Also, the new year brings a new word.

I chose the word "thrive" as 2016 was coming to a close. I felt it out for a week, and even started a Pinterest board. However, when I was adding quotes to my Pinterest board, this one - without the word "thrive" - made its way into the search results:

As soon as I read it, I knew my word was RISE. Positive. Literally uplifting. I know this word will carry me through 2017, and that I will be a better, stronger person because of it.

I signed up for Ali Edwards' One Little Word workshop (again). I'm excited to devote time each month to reconnecting, evaluating, and moving forward with my word.

Also, without infringing on any of Ali's intellectual property, I am sharing the general concept of a yearly word with the women at church. I'm teaching a mini workshop about taking a word and applying it to personal spiritual development. Several years into this practice, I have learned that my approach to One Little Word has a spiritual component at the core. While Ali's prompts are incredibly valuable and helpful, I needed something more, to speak to that spiritual core. I created worksheets specific to my faith that detail monthly prompts for 1) keeping your word visible, 2) reconnecting with your word, and 3) documenting your progress. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
